FWTW Gathering, Jamaica: Growing to the Next Level with Nicole McLaren-Campbell

After hosting our first in-person event, FWTW Gathering in two cities, Kingston and New York in May 2015, we wanted to raise the bar higher for our end of year gathering in 2015. The FWTW Gathering which brought together highly ambitous and candid 20-30-something-year-old women to have refreshingly raw and honest conversations, was amazing - as women got the opportunity to connect with like-minded women through sharing their experiences and lessons.

At the gathering, we were joined by Nicole McLaren-Campbell, Motivational Speaker, Entrepreneur and Founder of AIM Educational Services, our notable conversationalist, who shared her tools for growth around the topic, '#IAMRemarkable - Missing a Mark and Growing to the Next Level'.

For Women to Women (FWTW) goal is to provide women with tools for growth which will empower them to become change agents in their personal and professional lives while being dedicated to celebrating and supporting women - and the gathering was a great moment to bring together women who were open to continually elevating themselves and learning from like-minded women.

One of the main reasons we chose the topic for discussion, '#IAMRemarkable - Missing a Mark and Growing to Next Level', was to remind women that their failures and mistakes doesn't define as well as remind them to celebrate their successes and the tools that worked for them.

Often times, as women we applaud the successes of other women while forgetting to celebrate own selves and our own accomplishments as we are too busy comparing our journey with others. Through the conversations and engagement, we celebrated the successes of each other while sharing how 2015 was remarkable for each women regardless of the goals we didn't meet.

Common conversations for the event which left many women with a new perspective and a new level inspiration was defining success on our own terms, surrounding ourselves with power players, visualizing our best lives, identifying habits that were either hindering us or helping us to grow while maximizing our potential in their personal and professional lives.

Also, Nicole shared her personal tools for success and confessed how being focused, having goal systems in place and strategizing her goals has helped her to succeed in her business and family life. We admired how transparent Nicole was in sharing her own success tools, her struggle points as well as how being discipline and having a clear vision has been instrumental in helping her to grow.

Here are four (4) key takeaways from the gathering:

1. Be focus - create a plan that works for you and have systems in place that will help you to grow. Be clear on what you want, create a vision for yourself and break down your focus in bite sizes.

2. Let it go and keep moving - have a strategic plan in place, that will help you to move on from failures, mistakes and rejections.

3. Free yourself from the word 'NO' and the world will open up to you.

4. Define success on your own terms and have a compass for yourself because what works for others won't necessary work for you - our journey is different.

We want to thank the ladies who joined us at the gathering and our valued team who helped us to make the gathering a REMARKABLE one for the ladies.
